IN AMERICA AGAIN Ten days ago I arrived in beautiful Seattle. However, problems encountered during efforts to connect my laptop to the Internet have caused me to write a new post as late as this. The past ten days have been turbulent but also dedicated to work as well as to our children and granddaughter Mia. According to expectations I managed to set up my two new exhibitions on October 2: - the 26th independent fine art exhibition entitled "CREATED BY A CROAT HAND" in compliance with the "croatia fest 2008" motto, which included 18 oil paintings and watercolors; - my fourth independent exhibition of artistic photographs without a title which included 9 plus 4 shots of the KRAVICA Waterfall and of the Adriatic Sea. The festive opening of the CROATIA FEST and of my exhibitions will take place this evening, October 4, at 6:00 PM. It is expected that the manifestation will be launched by the Washington State governor. It will consist of an extensive and attractive program focusing on October 4 and 5. On Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM I shall be expected to demonstrate my watercolor painting skills in an enormous hall (larger than the Sarajevo "Skenderija" sports centre) while my exhibition will last until October 10. THE JOURNEY TO AMERICA As soon as on September 23 I am setting out/flying to Seattle, WA where many obligations await me as well as a great deal of joy. My granddaughter Mia is starting school, my son Zlaja has bought a new apartment; our daughter Sabina and her husband Nikola will on this occasion be our hosts for the greatest part of our sojourn there until mid-December. First I have to find out how my permanent sales exhibition of computer graphics which I have left it at the NORTHWEST CRAFT CENTER GALLERY is doing. Then I have to arrange everything connected with my new twenty-sixth (fifth American) independent art exhibition which I have been invited to present at the “CROATIA FEST 2008”. Maybe there will also be a new simultaneous art photography exhibition. A continuation of negotiations follows concerning some other exhibitions (avoiding the use the conceited phrase of some of my colleagues : “projects”!!). Naturally, there will be traveling in America, playing tennis, hiking, taking photographs…

KOLONIJA RAB Samo 24 sata sam imao da se spremim za daleki put (autom) do Raba na istoimenom otoku, gdje sam u periodu od 24.do30.08. bio jedan od 40-tak učesnika 7 RADIONICE S INTERNACIONALNIM SUDJELOVANJEM „MORE RAB 2008“, kako se ova likovna kolonija zvanično zove. Ovo je bilo jedno novo i vrlo poučno iskustvo za mene, pomalo i traumatično u početku, budući nisam navikao na ovakva okupljanja i pogotovu na rad u ovakvoj atmosferi. Stoga i nisam napravio do kraja ono što sam bio planirao i u dogovoru sa organizatorima ostaje da to uradim i pošaljem naknadno. No, zato sam za njih neočekivano, napravio dosta fotosa ambijenta kolonije i detalja predivnog Raba, što će - nadam se - biti dobro prihvaćeno i za arhivu Akademije-Art (organizatora kolonije) i za sponzora, Kliničko bolničkog centra „REBRO“, Zagreb. Po okončanju kolonije, uslijedila je uobičajena izložba radova svih učesnika, na kojoj je bio i moj foto-kolaž „POEZIJA MORA“ ( 24 fotosa naljepljena na platno ), pa ovim bilježim i svoju 15-tu kolektivnu likovnu izložbu.
U povratku sam napravio nekolko interesantnih fotosa kninske tvrđave i predivnog zalaska sunca na mom rodnom Kupresu.
